If you opt for excavation and burial, the Japanese knotweed will be dug up and buried in another part of the site OR excavated, enclosed within a special weed-proof membrane and buried in an area within the same site that will not be built on.

This saves time and money that would otherwise be spent paying for the knotweed waste being relocated to an approved landfill site.

Once we have sealed your Japanese knotweed in a specialist weed-proof membrane, we will bury it under 3 metres of clean soil. Alternatively, it can be buried under 5 metres of clean soil if no membrane is used.

How Much Does Japanese Knotweed Excavation and Burial Cost?

For our knotweed excavation and burial service, you pay the same excavation fee as for the knotweed excavation and removal service (£850 plus VAT per square metre) but you don't have to pay the tax for taking it to landfill.

Instead of going to landfill, the knotweed waste will be placed in a special weed proof membrane, and buried in a hole dug on site.
